Mueller RS Fairing meets the Greenspeed
We were excited to hear about Mueller's
GX Fairing because it promised versatile installation on almost
any SWB recumbent, including tadpole trikes such as the Greenspeed.
However, once installed on our test Greenspeed, the excellent coverage
the fairing offered made it clear that a
new technique to get on and off the trike would need to be devised. We
have illustrated a quick and very easy technique below:
Start by straddling either outboard wheel. Your posterior
should be facing the seat.
Reach down with your rearward hand and grab the wheel you are straddling
to keep the bike steady. Lower yourself into the seat.
The outboard wheel and handlebar should still be between your legs
at this point.
Lean back in the seat and swing your rearward leg over the wheel to join
your other leg.
At this point, both of your legs should be together on the same side of
the boom.
Swing your other leg (the left in this picture) over the boom to the
correct side of the bike.
Put your feet on the pedals and GO! Be sure to enjoy the streamlined
wind and weather protection your
Mueller GX Fairing provides!
